- Snowscooting career
- In my eleventh season
- Why did you take up Snowscooting?
- It was first suggested to me by a colleague with whom I rode jet skis in the summer. He said it was completely different from jet skiing, but that I would get the hang of it quickly because both have handlebars, etc. Nobody actually taught me. Having learned by myself, I participated in the Japan Tour using my own strange riding style. (In a cold sweat!) It was only a month since I had started and naturally I didn't win. In the second year, I practiced every day and at the end of the season I won a "sandlot" race in Hokkaido. In my third year, in the Japan Tour, I was ranked third. I am completely hooked on Snowscooting.
- What other sports are you involved in, and what hobbies do you have?
- I golf and fish a little bit, appreciate music and movies, and I like watching sports.
- What is the most dangerous moment you ever experienced?
- Once, driving my car, I slowed and began to turn right, and a dump truck trying to pass me crashed into my car from behind at about 100 kph. My car flew sideways into a field about two meters below the road. In comparison with that, there is nothing scary in Snowscooting.
- What is the best thing about Snowscooting for you?
- It helps me discover something new about myself every year. And, I have made many friends around the country.
- Please tell us about your riding style and what model you use.
- I ride the Style-R. It is basically for cross-country racing, but the low-angle frame is the best to me. I am the type of person who likes to try everything, and I want to try riding the Style-R in a snowpark.
